Electronic Grinder
Once the size of the grind has been adjusted, you may need to adjust the volume of the automatic dose as well. Making the grind finer can decrease the dose, & making the grind coarser can increase the dose.
NB. After tamping, the coffee should sit flush with the groove in the portafilter, about three quarters of the way up. Approximately 20g of dry coffee.
1 — Hold down the Menu button until the screen starts to flash.
2 — Select the double shot button.
3 — The number that is now on the screen is how many seconds the grinder will grind for when you press the button.
If you need to increase the dose, increase the number by 0.25.
If you need to decrease the dose, decrease the number by 0.25.
We increase or decrease the dose in 0.25 increments as this is equal to a full grinding revolution of the burrs. The recommended change sequences: (+/-) 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 or 1.0 etc.
To confirm the dose settings, hold down the menu key & test the new dose.
Sample the coffee through the coffee machine & keep an eye on the pouring rate & time. If the pouring rate is too fast or too slow, change the grind by adjusting the grinder collar as per the Manual Grinder guide.
NB. If you haven’t used the grinder for more than 10 minutes, grind off any old coffee left in the chamber & discard it. The old coffee will be stale & volatile.
